Glad News and Sad News – On the Move Again!

After almost a year at The Bean Hive on the High Street in Kettering, the sad news is that we have decided to move on. The Bean Hive is a fantastic place with great traders but required a time commitment that we aren’t able to make any longer. However, the glad news is that we will continue to have a small “bricks and mortar presence”, due to a beautifully timed invitation from The Galleria in Burton Latimer to return there to run a “Pocket Money Plus” Shop.

The beginning of August saw us running around packing up from the pink shop in Kettering and moving a select number of products into The Galleria, 160B High St, Burton Latimer, Kettering NN15 5RH (opposite Sainsbury’s). The Galleria is open from Tuesday-Saturdays and has a wonderfully eclectic mixture of traders within it. Known in particular for craft workshops, The Galleria is now also the home of The Refill Station, with a Deli due in the autumn. We’re looking forward to developing our pocket money shop here.

penscopes and YoYosThis month we are focusing on the outdoors with products from penscopes (microscope and telescope in a pen!) and Duncan yoyos to binoculars, fishing nets, boomerangs and ray guns – but for those rainy days (it’s definitely been stormy this weekend), we have some great small games, from Ah-Harr! a pirate memory game and Sushi Go to Mapominoes UK,  Mapominoes Europe and Astronauts, all educational and highly addictive family card games.

Games and outdoor toysIn our pocket money stand you can find traditional games like Pick-up Sticks and marbles, share playing cards with Harry Potter and his friends, investigate a little science with a Springy (slinky), compass or pocket telescope, or get a feast of sensory feedback with products like Tangles, wooden Twisty Blocks, Crazy Aaron’s Thinking Putty and stress balls. Of course it wouldn’t be a pocket money stand without bouncy balls and with blind products from Hot Wheels, Maisto Fresh Metal Diecast cars and Stikbot Dinos there is plenty to offer those surprise rewards that children love… and for a great hug or three we have a soft toy or two from names like Ty, Jomanda and Living Nature!
